January is my least favorite month of the year and I feel like I am slowly trudging through it. I’ve been trying to stay focused and positive, making lists and sticking to them, but let’s just say it hasn’t been so easy. And, the whole healthy eating thing and not drinking this month — well let’s not even go there. There were a few little things though that perked me up and I thought I’d share them with you. I did a little shopping, added a must-have winter beauty item to my skincare routine and made my home feel a bit cozier without doing much to it. See below on the things I’m loving this month:
Bracelet by Haverhill
Who knew a new piece of jewelry would make me feel so good? I’ve been eyeing this silver and 18-karat gold bracelet for a while now and love how it’s both edgy and timeless and goes with everything. I usually forgo bracelets these days out of laziness and not having the right pieces, but this bracelet just elevated my accessory collection big time. Plus, it looks great layered with other pieces.
Striped Sweater by KULE
I have been living in this cashmere sweater and found it at my favorite shop in NYC. It feels great on, hits at the hip, is not too tight and comes in a classic cream and navy stripe with a fun pop of a red and turquoise, so it’s an update on a classic that I will have forever. I have already have been wearing it to meetings and out for dinner, but also at home shuttling my kids around to activities. I love how versatile it is and the stripes this time of year feel fresh and fun.
Hyaluronic-Infused Face Serum by La Roche Posay
I’ve been out with my new puppy in this harsh weather morning, noon and night, which is leaving my skin super dry and off balance. I’ve been applying this hydrating serum to clean skin in the morning, before my moisturizer, and it has added major hydration and soothes my skin from the elements. It’s packed with hyaluronic acid so it plumps skin and infuses it with moisture instantly. I’ll be using this serum all winter long.
Scented Candle by Nest
I have been somewhat of a candle snob and was only using my favorite candles in the powder room and living spaces because I was hooked on the scents and shunning others out there. A friend gave me this Nest Moss & Mint candle as a gift and it smells like fresh-cut greens with a hint of mint. It’s not too overpowering (the hubby and kids even like it) and it infuses the house with a fresh clean smell while still making it feel cozy.
Grocery Store Blooms
Since New Year’s Day, I’ve been buying white hydrangea and simple greenery and placing them in vases around the house. There’s something about the simplicity of the white and green hues that feels fresh for January and for the start of the new year.
Any new faves this month and do you feel the same way about January? If so, please share in comments below
