It finally feels like winter here in the northeast. And while I should be stocking up on ultra-hydrating skin care, which I know I will need in the coming weeks, I’ve recently purchased a few makeup bag essentials that have gotten me through holiday parties, and a whitening toothpaste for pearly whites in the New Year. Here are my winter beauty buys:
Crest 3D White Luxe ($6.99) — After weeks of drinking multiple coffees daily, I knew it was time to give my toothpaste an upgrade. I grabbed this whitening toothpaste at the store in a hurry and couldn’t be happier with my choice. In just one day after using, I noticed my teeth were brighter and after five days they were whiter. It makes my mouth feel way cleaner and fresher than regular toothpaste, which is a huge perk.
Deborah Lippmann Cuticle Remover ($20)– I splurged on this cuticle remover because my cuticles were super-dry, and I started to pick at them, even with using cuticle oil nightly. This cuticle remover has helped solve that problem. I’ve been applying the creamy exfoliating solution into cuticles weekly ( leave on for up to a minute) then use a pusher (I like this one) to push back the cuticle. It seriously removes ragged cuticles very well and leaves hands with healthy looking nails.
NYX Cream Blush in Natural ($6)– I was looking for a new blush and wanted a cream formula since my skin tends to be on the drier side in the cooler months. This drugstore brand is super blendable (I chose a natural pink hue) with a smooth creamy texture. I like how you can build color for a nice rosy flush, and can use your fingers or a brush to apply the color you desire.
Chanel Glossimer in Imaginaire ($30) — Two friends were wearing this pretty pink gloss at holiday parties and I had to get my hands on it. It looks darker in the tube, but it is a pretty sheer magenta-pink that has the nicest sheen to it. It really just darkens my lip color and stays on for a while without any stickiness. I’ve been wearing it during the day and night.
Bobbi Brown Bronzer Brush ($56) — I’ve been using the same bronzer brush for years, which had fluffy bristles at different lengths and gave a light application, but the handle broke off and it was time for a new one. This goat hair fluffy bronzer brush feel nice on skin with soft bristles and a rounded top that leaves an even application. So far it’s working well, but I’m still missing my old one.
