I’ve been prepping the last few days for our first Thanksgiving here in our new house. I’m a last-minute planner so I’ve been running around the Providence area trying to pick up items that we need for our feast as well as stocking the fridge with items our guests will want to eat. In NYC, I’d pick up everything the day before, schlepping with lots of bags, which got me excited for holiday time. I feel like I slacked when it came to getting the house ready this time, but it’s all good. Family will be here and we will be together. That is what it’s all about. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I’m making my first turkey this year and I was prepared to do a wet brine, but this dry brine by Ina Garten was so easy and should make for a moist flavorful bird.
I’m currently drying bread cubes overnight for this easy stuffing recipe, which is always a hit on Thanksgiving. The key is good quality sourdough bread.
I’m heading to Boston on Black Friday to walk around (probably not the smartest move) but the weather is supposed to be mild. I hope to hit some stores that I miss from NYC and grab lunch here.
This parody is getting me in the mood for some latkes when Hanukkah starts next Sunday.
I saw these unique hanging lights at a local store here in Providence and thought they were great for a kids room or as funky festive holiday decor.
Keep this in mind if you are traveling overseas this holiday season.
Excited for this and hope it’s true.
