I always feel like the Fourth of July really kicks off the summer with lots of barbecues with friends and fun road trips to beach towns along the east coast . The past few years we spent the holiday weekend in the city and watched the fireworks from our roof, but they moved the fireworks to the east side and it no longer feels quite the same. For this holiday weekend, I’m heading to Rhode Island and going to check out the town of Bristol, which has one of the oldest Fourth of July celebrations in the US, Newport for a sail around the harbor and a meal at this clam shack for some local, casual seafood. We’re also going to catch the Rhode Island Philharmonic perform at Providence’s Independence Day celebration. Hope you have a fun holiday weekend!
