When H&M’s Swedish sister brand, & Other Stories, opened this past fall here in New York City, I had to head in to see what all the hype was about. Sure, the clothes and accessories are stylish, affordable and on-trend, but what I really fell for was the perfectly curated in-house beauty collection. It’s chic, minimalist and nothing is over $20. Each collection features a body scrub, body lotion, hand lotion, body wash and hand soap with names such as Belleville Bakery (a mix of lemon with a hint of vanilla), Botanic Whisper (orange blossom with coriander) and Floral Memento (a subtle mix of violet, bergamot and peony). There’s also nail polish, candles and fragrance. I thought I’d like one of the products, but I really like them all. They are not overly scented and feel luxurious on skin, plus they look super-chic on my bathroom shelf. I switch between the body lotion and body soufflé every day. Both leave my skin hydrated and soft, and the body soufflé is rich without being greasy. The sugar body scrub feels and smells like more expensive exfoliating scrubs, and leaves skin soft and smooth. I love the subdued packaging with a pop of color on the label. Right now, & Other Stories is only available in NYC or overseas, but you can order most of the beauty collection on the website. Seriously, at this price you should grab the entire line. You won’t be disappointed.
