I’m really picky when it comes to fragrance. I often shop around for a while, hitting the perfume counters and grabbing samples until I find the right scent that suits my personality, smells amazing and is not too overpowering. It’s been a long time since I’ve found a new fragrance and spring is the perfect time to usher in something light and fresh. Here are some standouts to try this time of year:
Kate Spade Walk on Air – Like the name, this scent is light and airy with notes of white florals such as linden blossom and lily of the valley blended with bergamot, magnolia, jasmine and neroli that is really feminine and fresh.
Atkinsons 1799 Love in Idleness (Available May) – This luxury perfume comes from one of the oldest perfume houses in the world and is both floral and woody with notes of raspberry, violet leaves, tree moss and patchouli. It’s timeless and sophisticated—a classic that you can wear forever.
Tommy Bahama Island Life for Her – I’m a fan of all things beachy and this scent is playful and bright with notes of juicy pear, sparkling mandarin, star anise and florals such as white rose, peony and peach blooms. It’s rounded out with vanilla, sandalwood and musk—perfect for the warmer months.
Salvatore Ferragamo Emozione – An elegant scent with top notes of white peach and bergamot that blend seamlessly with Bulgarian rose, heliotrope, patchouli and rounded out with earthy suede, patchouli and white musk.
Elie Saab Le Parfum Resort Collection – Created by famed perfumer, Francis Kurkdijian, this feminine scent is the perfect balance of fruity, floral and warmth with notes of mandarin, fig, frangipani, white jasmine, cedar and amber. Plus, I love the blue bottle, which evokes being out at sea on the Amalfi Coast.
ORIGINAL by Anja Rubik – Model Anja Rubik was inspired by individuality and uniqueness when creating this new fragrance that is both woody and floral with a touch of spice. Notes of white lilies, green tea and pink peppercorn make it fresh and chic, and is perfect for wearing at the office as well as with jeans and a T-shirt.
Prada Candy Florale – With the name like candy I thought this would be too sweet, but it really is pretty and fresh for spring. Top notes of sparkling cedrat (a citron), blend with a heart of cosmos and a candy base.
L’Eau D’Issey City Blossom – This new limited edition fragrance screams spring. It’s light and floral with hints of citrus and spice, making it very wearable for any occasion. If you’re a fan of the original Issey Miyake fragrance, you’ll love this one too.
