I’ve always been into a neutral nail. Sure, call me boring, but I feel barely-there nails always look chic and timeless. I usually gravitate towards sheer baby pinks or translucent off-white hues, but I’m also loving sheer latte and grey colors that look polished and stylish. I even love a neutral polish on my toes for a clean, effortless look. Choose a color that is a shade lighter or darker than your skin tone as you don’t want it to match exactly. Here are some of my old and new favorites:
Dermelect in Opulence ($14) — One coat of this peptide infused creamy white adds a hint of color while two coats makes a stylish statement.
Sally Hansen Sheer Force ($6.50) — A translucent off-white that is flattering year round.
L’Oreal Walk on the Beach ($5.99) – Two coats of this sandy-grey hue is flattering on medium to dark skin tones and looks nice on toes, too.
NYC Long Wearing Nail Enamel in Poppin’ Champagne ($.99) — A sheer pearly champagne that is long-wearing and affordable.
Deborah Lippmann Like Dreamers Do ($18) — Part of the new spring 2015 collection, this sheer latte hue is classy and gorgeous and now one of my favorite neutrals.
Nails Inc in Porchester Square ($14) — An opaque greyish-mushroomy color that is modern and sophisticated and looks great for any occasion.
Deborah Lippmann in Naked ($18) — One of the most popular nudes out on the market and most often the nail color you see in glossy ad campaigns and on the runway. This hue makes hands look polished, adds just the right amount of shine and works well for all skin tones.
OPI Samoan Sand ($8) – The perfect sandy nude that looks great on medium to dark skin tones.
Essie in Fed Up ($8.50) – Essie makes some of my favorite all-time favorite neutral nail colors. This one is the perfect sheer pinky beige that will never go out of style and always looks clean and chic.
Sally Hansen in Sweet Talker ($6.48) – A versatile sheer baby pink that looks timeless and polished.
OPI Put in Neutral ($9.50) – A sheer dusty pink that is gives nails a hint of color while not being boring.
Essie Mademoiselle ($8.50) – This glossy sheer pink is usually my go-to polish when I want my nails to look put together, but not too done. It looks great on all skin tones and adds just the right amount of shine.
