This week was really busy with the start of Hanukkah, last-minute holiday gift shopping, seeing old friends and volunteering at my kids school. I woke up this morning and felt burnt out, anxious and tired. I realize I’m doing too much and not taking care of myself. I need to slow down, take some time to enjoy the holiday season and be more present. This weekend I’m going to do just that and not worry about the small stuff. I’m going to unwind tonight with some girlfriends and go out for some holiday cocktails—laughter will be good. I’m going to make my family this easy and yummy recipe tomorrow night for dinner and then rent a movie. I’m going to see my sister for brunch on Sunday and dine at either the new west village outpost of Jack’s Wife Freda or Joseph Leonard. Get a much-needed relaxing pedicure at Jin Soon Nail Spa. Walk around the neighborhood and pop into shops such as Otte, Greenwich Letterpress and Sockerbit, not harried or stressed out as I have been. And, I’m going to really try and take it all in, one moment at time.
